Play these awesome games and enjoy a whale of a time with your guests at your Thanksgiving Day party. Bobbing for Apples 1) Remove the stems from some apples. 2) Fill a large wash tub with clean water. 3) Drop the apples into the water. 4) Request each participant to get one of the apples out of the water using only his/her mouth. No use of hands is to be allowed. The Bean Bag Toss Game 1) Cut off the top of a large pumpkin. 2) Scoop the insides of the pumpkin out. 3) Clean the inside as well as outside of the hollowed-out pumpkin with water. 4) Cut a large piece of clean old cloth into 9" X 9" strips. 5) Pour a handful of beans into each cloth strip, bring all four corners close and tie into a knot. Secure each cloth ball with a strip of lace to prevent the beans from falling out. 6) Request each participant to sit in a circular arrangement. 7) Place the hollowed-out pumpkin in the middle, so that it is about 3 1/2 feet away from each participant. 8) Hand over a beanbag to each of the participants and as you say "LET THE FUN BEGIN", they are supposed to toss their bags inside the pumpkin for points. However, not all of the people should throw at once. It should proceed in a circular way, with one person tossing his first followed by the one sitting right to him/her succeeded by the man/woman right to that person and so on. 9) Repeat the throwing 6 times. Those who get to toss their bags the maximum number of times into the pumpkin wins the most points. Turkey Hunt 1) Purchase several toy turkeys, each of different colours. Also buy some small paper or jute bags. 2) Hide them at different parts of the house several hours before the party begins. Hide the turkeys where they are not difficult to find but well-camouflaged, such as a red turkey remains hidden behind a red jar, a yellow turkey remains concealed behind a yellow book and the like. 3) Gather all participants together, preferably kids because this is essentially a children's game though adults are most welcome if they want to indulge in some childlike fun. 4) Hand a bag to each of the participants and tell them to find the hidden items within a specified time frame, ten minutes or less. The one who comes back with the most toys wins. The Thief and the Detective! 1) Place various toys and treats, such as toy turkeys, cardboard pumpkins, pictures of cornucopia etc on the Thanksgiving party table, preferably a rectangular table. 2) Have the participants sit down at the table. 3) Ask each of them to take a good look at the small items, and remember them. 4) Blindfold one of the players. 5) As soon as the player has been blindfolded, ask one of the other players in the group to quietly remove one of the toys or treats off the table, and hide it from view. 6) Remove the blindfold and ask the player to correctly guess which item is missing and who has taken it. Allow him/ her three guesses and then have the culprit confess and show the stolen item. 7) With the item returned to the table, the game should be continued with the player who snatched the item leading the next round. 8) Blindfold this player and continue as before. 9) The game should go on until everyone has had a chance to be the thief as well as the detective. |
